Results of the Current Portfolio

            The portfolio includes Apple Inc., Advanced Micro Devices Inc., and Lam Research Corp that were previously invested in hedging investment risk. Apple Inc. has appreciated from the previous share price of $283 to the current share price of $318 (NASDAQ, 2020). It translates to a $35 gain and an increase in share price dollar value of $1,543 within theinvestment period. However, Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and Lam Research Corp depreciated in the period under analysis. Advanced Micro Devices Inc. lost $3 from the previous share price of $57 to the current share price of $ 54 (NASDAQ, 2020). This lead to a loss in the dollar value of an aggregate amount of $468. Additionally, Lam Research Corp share price depreciated from $279 to the current share price of $274 (NASDAQ, 2020). It is $5 loss, and the dollar value of the share has also depreciated by $80 in the period under review. Therefore, the net gain in portfolio investment is $996 from the initial investment of $25,000 to the current value of $25,996 in the investment period. Apple’s share price could have increased in value due to a fall in inflation and interest rate. On the contrary, a decrease in the share price of Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and Lam Research Corp could be due to the Covid-19 pandemic or increase in interest and inflation rates. Figure 1 shows a summary of a comparative assessment of the portfolio performance over the period of evaluation.
