PowerPoint 1: Europe

Landforms and Elevation.When we think about Europe, a picture of magnificent sceneries is evoked in our minds. It is a great continent with the largest number of landforms. Its remarkably high elevations include the Alps, Urals, Caucasus, Apennines, and Pyrenees mountains. These landmarks give the continent its positive reputation regarding the scenic sites.

Correlation between Landforms and Climate.The climate of an area is largely influenced by the present landforms. The European topography and climate confirm this claim. Areas near the seas experience mild weather. Those far from it face extreme climatic conditions. Regions to the east of mountains experience moist weather, while those on the west have dry weather.

Latitudinal, Continental, and Major Mountains Positions Influence Climate.It is known that Russia is the vastest country. Due to the large size, the outlined positions vary greatly, and therefore, the climate changes rapidly from one location to another. This explains why it is difficult to tell the average climatic conditions in Russia.  

Reading 1: The European Realm

Small but Influential. Territorially, Europe is small but heavily populated. For the last five centuries, the Europeans have managed to shape the world through influences on many fronts, including economical, political, and cultural.

Tranquility in the Midst of Diversity. The continent is the smallest but the most populated with regard to size, and besides, it is the most fragmented. Despite this division and diversity of people occupying a limited area, Europe has experienced peace for hundreds of years.  

Reading 2: The Russian Realm

Time Zone and Geographical Size. These two factors have a unique correlation. In a vast geographicalzone, the incidences of varying time are common. When some people are taking dinner in Russia’s capital, Moscow, others in the same country but different locations prepare to wake up.
