Lab: Close Reading, Distant Reading, and Textual Analysis

Part I: Close Reading

1. The sonnet is about the previous state of hopelessness and depression for the persona but who now seems to have recovered via joyous thoughts of love.

The phrase “Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for years to come,” seeks to establish a positive tone.

19. The “Little Mermaid Live Review” features a negative review. The phrase “You didn’t care about the boring animated parts” influenced the negative review.

20. The three keywords identified in the Amazon Glitter Review are creative art, Charles Leonard Glitter, and Glitter. No, the Amazon Glitter is not a legitimate review since the second keyword does not make sense.
