Technological advances particularly in the field of information technology have imposed benefits in different sectors of the global environment. Generally, people engage in the utilization of IT facets, specifically computers on a daily basis. This is based on the ease of affordability regarding the respective paraphernalia. Additionally, the dynamic nature of the IT environment has imposed further advancements particularly in the simplicity associated with the application of these devices. In fields involve science as well as engineering, imperative activities such as biotechnology have become fully reliant on the utilization of computers. Processes involving weather forecasts and the implications of climate change have influenced an inclination towards representations of atmospheric behavior and geographic information. In sub-fields such as architecture, processes such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) have enabled product improvement (Davies, 2008). Additionally, information technology has become imperative in other fields, particularly due to the facilitation of evaluation and control. Fields involving commerce and accounting have incorporated internal IT-based controls aimed at ensuring the gratification of specified business objectives (Coe, 2005). Part of these applications also involves the evaluation of aspects related to such objectives in order to understand the challenges that the business experiences. The dependability on technology by humans is illustrated by the application of respective devices within different fields. Nowadays, people have become increasingly reliant on devices such as smartphones and tablets in an effort to satisfy the demands of the personal, workplace, and social situations. Aside from the mentioned applications of IT, Information Security (IS) has also evolved into a staple of the reliance on technology, especially due to the competitive advantage it adds. Despite the benefits associated with IT, it is impossible to neglect the negative aspects associated with the field based on processes such as virus creation, hacking, cracking, and eavesdropping. Hence, organizations that integrate IS into their networks will be capable of protecting themselves, their information, and their clients from malicious intent (Harkins, 2013).
