Form, Geometry, and Proportion as Important Aspects of Interior Design

In (fig.1), the image shows dome-shaped windows symbolizes the act of celebrating the Ancient Egyptian art and pride through the advanced civilizations of both the Roman and Greek empires. Indeed, the utilization of Greek wooden and bronze furniture, and intricate ivory, and silver linings on the windows reflects on the concept of combining beauty with comfort while complimenting the wealth, political, and social class of the users of this interior designs (Eceoglu 4). Consequently, this element of form wholly gives a picture of the decorative ornamentation era, which existed due to the influence of the Medieval Europe and Christian Church.

In (fig.2), the image shows geometric patterns across the interior designs that signifies the idea of stylistic aesthetics. In particular, this element has been applied through square-shaped tiles, rectangular-shaped wall patterns, and trapezium-shaped patterns forming on the staircase. More so, the pattern on the interior doors and glasses follow the rectangle shape (Eceoglu 5). Imperatively, the idea of geometry complements simplicity throughout the architectural space, bringing about consistency, straightforwardness of icons that make users to navigate easily.

In (fig.3), the image depicts an element of proportion across the interior design. The idea of this image is how best interior design fits within a given allocated proportion of space without having to superimpose over another item (Eceoglu 7). From the image, the idea of proportion has been applied to create a balance between color, shape, and texture of the items. For example, there is no repetition of colors or texture. Moreover, the furniture and seats have different shapes. In brief, the idea of using different colors, shapes, and texture of the items in the image seeks to avoid monotonous across space, thus complimenting style and variety.
