The difference between a problem and a controversy is that a problem has people who agree with it and disagree with it. A controversy has experts that have differing solutions to a situation. For example if we were looking for a problem and controversy in the field of Health: a problem example might be Should people take multivitamins? Some people say yes and others say no. But an example of a controversy would be – What is the best diet for healthy weight loss? Some experts say low calorie, some say low fat and others say low carb. Each has experimental data that shows their method works. So this is a controversy- there is more than one possible correct answer and no definitive solution.
