Telecommuting

An increasingly popular trend in today’s workplace is “telecommuting.” Your boss has had several employees ask her about the possibility of performing work—at least part time—at home. However, she is not convinced that telecommuting is in the best interest of the company, so she asks you to write a report that analyzes the pros and cons of this form of employment. Consider what jobs are ideal for telecommuting, what the employment statistics reveal, and how it affects both businesses and employees. What should your boss consider when making his/her decision regarding “telecommuting”?
