Assignment 3: Critical Reflection Essay
Overall Goal: This is your opportunity to not just learn the law, but consider what you think about
it as a citizen and potential future judge/legislator/journalist. This essay considers the intersection
between law and ethics.
The Essay: Discuss one law, regulation, standard, legal test, etc.
which you disagree or which you think needs updating.
1 • Briefly explain your objections.
2 • Explain your reasoning using first amendment theory and/or philosophical theory.
3 • Propose an alternative to current law that better accords with the theory you subscribe to.
4 • Address the likely objections of those who support the current law.
