Elderly as a vulnerable population

Address all of the following in your scholarly paper. Once you have written your introduction, use the following criteria (Health Issues, Health-related Goals, etc.) as headings.
Introduction: Introduce the vulnerable population you selected. Describe the demographics and risk factors of this vulnerable population. (Do not use a heading for your introduction.)
Health Issues: Identify two priority health needs, issues, or concerns of this vulnerable population based on identified risk factors.
Health-related Goals: Identify two priority goals relevant to this vulnerable population that are addressed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Healthy People 2010 goals. Describe health and healthcare disparities experienced by this vulnerable population as related to the Healthy People 2010 goals. Consider whether this population has access to healthcare resources. Address whether this population’s health risks are included in the national agenda.
“The Personal is Political”: Think about the phrase, The personal is political. What does it mean in relation to your chosen vulnerable population? Consider socioeconomic trends, ethical, legal and regulatory issues, or political influences that relate to and affect this vulnerable population. Consider what legislative action is being taken to address this aggregate’ health needs. (See Module 1 Lesson 5).
Advocacy and Education: Consider how nurses can advocate for and educate this vulnerable population. Describe nursing’s role in advocating for this population on a local, state-wide, or national level. Describe nursing’s role in educating this population about how to access health care and address their healthcare needs.
Summarization and Projection: Summarize by projecting to the year 2010 and considering whether the Healthy People 2010 goals will be met for this vulnerable population.
