List of issues
Designs usually start with a need or an issue people have. Come up with a list of 20 issues from daily life, which annoy or concern you.
Problem statements
Now pick five (5) out of the list of your 20 issues and formulate a problem statement for each of the 5 issues.
Design goals
For each of your five (5) problem statements develop one (1) design goal, which overcomes or minimises the problem.
Design solutions
Now pick one (1) of your design goals and name five (5) different solutions or variations of the same solution.
Sketches
Draw five (5) sketches illustrating your five design solutions.
Note: This assignment requires you to perform step 1-4 of the Engineering Design Process.
