Your annotated bibliography must contain the following:
1. HEADING in the top left-hand corner.
2. TITLE: Use only “Annotated Bibliography” as your title (not in quotation marks)
Center this title at the top of the page.
Capitalize the first letter of each word (not the whole thing).
Do not bold, italicize, or underline the title.
3. CITATIONS
List 10-15 sources in alphabetical order according to the last name of the author.
Provide a complete MLA format citation for each source. See Appendix: Citing and Documenting Sources (887). The citation information is the same as a Works Cited page; the formatting is slightly different.
The formatting difference is that Annotated Bibliography citations are in bold font like this, whereas Works Cited page citations are not.
4. ANNOTATIONS
Annotate each citation like this:
State the author’s claim or main point.
Offer a brief analysis of the main claim.
Identify the information and ideas that are most relevant to your research paper, such as significant arguments and findings. Indicate how you might use the source in your research paper.
Annotations are plain font; not bold.
Format:
Use a standard font: Calibri, Times New Roman, Cambria, Arial.
The font should be 11 or 12 point. I don’t mind 10pt either, and it saves paper (but know that that’s not a conventional size.)
Write annotations in paragraph form, single-spaced (1.5 max)
5. RESEARCH REQUIREMENTS
Your sources must be distributed in the following manner:
(1) Popular source.
(2) Scholarly sources.
(1) Primary source.
(6) Choices that include any of the above and everything in-between (books, interviews, surveys, transcripts, films, radio etc).
You must include at least 10 sources in your annotated bibliography, but stop at 15 if you find yourself there.
FINAL ESSAY REQUIREMENTS
Keep in mind that in your final essay you must cite at least six sources from your annotated bibliography. Among them must be:
(1) Popular source.
(2) Scholarly sources.
Place an order in 3 easy steps. Takes less than 5 mins.
