Presentation 1 – Work Place Violence Against Nurses

The presentation examines how the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act plays essential functions in averting workplace violence in the U.S. The regulation that is promoted by the American Nurses Association (ANA) requires employers to formulate and implement effective plans that safeguard health care workers from violence, and forbids practices actions that dampen reporting. The presentation describes how the policy will impact the future in a way that it would be possible to achieve zero-tolerance against violence, improved work environment, and advanced health and wellness (ANA 2019). The presentation describes how many stakeholders are hopeful that the rate of violence will drop with the passing of the legislation in November 2019 by the U.S. House of Representatives (116th Congress 2019). Hopefully, the Act will create a condition where it is easy to advocate for less violent workplaces and improved ways of reprimanding violators.

Presentation 2 – Telemedicine

The presentation illustrates how Chiron Health feels that the Telemedicine Development Act of 1996 denies many people the opportunity to enjoy telehealth services. The organization contends the requirement that one must submit a signed written consent, and thinks it secludes many individuals who may require the service yet may not conveniently submit the approval (GovTrack.us 2019). The organization believes that the legislation causes disparities in accessing care, and calls on all stakeholders to partake in making considerable transformations (Chiron Health 2020). The presentation informs how Chiron now applies various lobby methods such as written notifications and testimonies, and non-legislative techniques such as holding conferences, public meetings, and engaging in online seminars to increase awareness on the need to change the legislation. The presentation on telemedicine belongs to my feedback.
