Personal Statement

The rise in the growth of urban areas resulting from world economic changes cannot be ignored anymore. Currently, most construction sectors lack structural designers to help in the expansion of urban space. I have undeniably wanted to make unique things with beautiful architecture designs marked by sustainability since childhood. In most cases, I related naturally with rulers, erasers, and pencils to try and sketch a dream house. At the same time, I would make many changes until an eye-catching end-product is formed. As curiosity increased, the sharp wit and creativity required in the architectural profession were noted by my primary teachers. Equally, interest in this field was strengthened by traveling experiences, both personal and during school-based activities. More so, my greatest attention was paid to the simplicity and complexity that various building plans reflected. Significant factors included space imaginations, which drove the urge to explore the future, current, and past architectural forms.This will help unravel the rising trends in the field as it requires passion and innovativeness for aesthetics. Therefore, my current focus is to be a certified architect by pursuing a degree in architecture, which is key to fulfilling these desires.

Further, the construction industry’s current challenges are a motivation behind the need to enhance architectural skills by pursuing a master’s degree in architectural engineering. This will also improve knowledge in the area. Thus, to align with the building and construction industries’ changes, architectures evolve via new ideas redefining old concepts. Hence, architecture is a good career choice since it offers an opportunity to re-imagine the universe via a sustainable and environmentally friendly structure.

The greatest focus in pursuit of this course would be a digital fabrication and parametric design. The technology is first advancing and gaining recognition in the industry, thus outpacing architectural designs’ traditional modes. Having advanced knowledge regarding digital fabrication and parametric designs will be a crucial and competitive ingredient in meeting career demands. The ultimate goal is to use these technologies to exploit ideas in design aesthetics and formulation of required parameters to facilitate architectural developments.  Hence, the proposed research area is essential because it complements the conceptualization and establishment of new structures that align with environmentally friendly design specifications. 

Moreover,I intend to utilize the graduate school’s educational opportunities to attain the best out of my course.This is key, especially in addressing the challenging parametric designs and digital fabrication studies, that the most demanding components of the course. Equally, it is critical to developing intra and interpersonal skills, which can only be acquired through direct interaction with colleagues, experienced supervisors, and faculty directorates. In this case, one gets the opportunity to reassess old beliefs against multiple views and ideas, which enhances a positive personality. In the same line, the diverse programs and learning resources will be critical in facilitating my assessment of varying viewpoints from different specialists to broaden my knowledge. Besides, my greatest motivation regarding the course is expanding knowledge and expertise in parametric design and digital fabrication. Hence, throughout my graduate studies, I will be seeking access to the institution’s available resources to strengthen insight on the latest experience and interests regarding the area. This is based on the understanding that knowledge is always evolving; hence ambitious architects have to align strategically with the rising dynamics in architecture. Thus, this study’s main objectives would be to influence interactions, advance my skills, broaden perspectives on world view, and develop a personality to meet the challenging professional demands in the field.
