A portfolio with Apple Inc., Advanced Micro Devices Inc., and Lam Research Corp wasearlier invested and has continuously been monitored to access the returns generated. According to the analysis, Apple Inc. has increased in value from week three to week ten. The share price has steadily appreciated from $283 in week three, $318 in week eight, and $344 in week ten(NASDAQ, 2020). In this case, it implies thatthere was an aggregate gain of $61 between week three and ten. The dollar value has also increased by $2,693.90 in the investment period. Additionally, Lam Research Corp has appreciated $23 from $279 to the current price of $302, though it had slightly depreciated on week eight to $274 (NASDAQ, 2020). As such, the net effect on the dollar value is an appreciation of $348.44 within the period under review. However, Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has decreased in value under the period in review. On aggregate, the share has declined by $1, from the previous share price of $57 to the price of $56 (NASDAQ, 2020). This has resulted in a loss of $89.18 in the dollar value. Therefore, the net gain in the investment portfolio is $2,953. The initial investment was $25,000 in week three, and it has increased to the current amount of $27, 953 in week ten. The portfolio yielded a good return in the investment period, and the stock selected was ideal, considering that the net loss was only $1 from Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Both Apple’s and Lam Research Corp generated a return on the investment. Thus, the most important lessons are on how to choose a portfolio to hedge risk, allocating funds, and investing to generate profits from the initial outlay. Figure 1 below summarizes the portfolio performance over the investment period.
