Steel frame construction is a building technique of using skeleton steel frames of both vertical columns and horizontal beams. A combination of these steel frames and beams form a rectangular-like grid that supports the walls, roof, and floors (Barnett 197). The application of steel frames facilitated the construction of skyscrapers in the late 19^th centuryfor the reason that steel is more durable and weighs lighter thaniron.

The origin of the mega-structural architecture dates back in the medieval European International Exhibitions in the 19^th century in which there were huge displays of iron and glass enclosing erected in the city of London. Both the Metrocable system and Burj Khalifa are mega-structural project proposals in Medellin, Colombia, andDubai, respectively.

This kind of planning brings about the preservation of particular histories of a region, thus enhancing the economic empowerment.

The incorporation of autos, such as busses and trucks, has impacted the rail-based cities positively. Busses and trucks have the large capacity of passengers as the most effective means of decongesting the railway stations (Barnett 212).
