Question One

1. Doctor Maria Lopez is a qualified doctor at the University of California and practices emergency medicine Colorado California.
2. She has been a teacher for more than ten years.
3. Her main area of research is emergencies in children.
4. The other author is Steven Forness who is a psychologist currently a professor in the University of California doing research in the field of emotional disorders in children.
5. He has worked as a teacher for more than thirty years in the field of emotional disorders in children.

Question Two

The research established that children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or emotional behavior disorders and those who are not at risk of any disorder have no differences in intelligence. The only difference between these groups of children is social skills.

Question Three

The first point is that schools do not have measures to identify these children. I think it is important because children with disorders are continuing to increase. Second, schools make mistakes of misplacing these children in the wrong groups. I think it is important because they lack proper strategies. Third, methods applied are underutilized. I think it is important teachers do not take them seriously.

Question Four and Five

Strengths

1. The first strength of this research is that the researchers have used a wide range of children (research group) to prove the research case.
2. The second strength is real life situations have been used by the two scholars to prove the research case.

Opinion

1. I believe the research is stronger because when a big number used for statistical case in the research, it improves credibility of the information.
2. I tend to believe that real life experiences or situations are more credible than using other people experiments. Therefore, this research is credible

Weakness

1. The research did not expand their research to other areas of the country. They only used one state.
2. Second, the researchers did not come up with conclusive measures to be used in solving the problem.

Opinion

1. I believe that the researcher could have extended their study to other counties to establish whether the problem is universal.
2. Secondly, I think the research could have tried to come up with new measures to help in solving the problem of children disorders rather than indicating the problems alone.

Question Six

The study proves that children with emotional disorders do not have differences with other normal children in terms of gender and intelligence. The article has established that it is important for schools to diagnose these children correctly for the purposes of providing care. The researchers have used a wide range research group with real life situation thus making the research to be strong. In the article, it shows that diagnosing a disability is extremely important especially if it is right.

Question Seven

However, the article has not offered some insights on what criteria should be taken in diagnose the children with emotional disorders. The researchers could have used a wide range of children for the research for instance, children from different schools or children from different grades. The researchers did not come up with conclusive measures for solving the problem. Parents should have been involved in the study for a good explanation of their children behaviors. The researchers did not provide teachers with a criterion to follow while teaching these children. Finally, the article has put alt of expectation to the lower grade teachers.
