PROJECT II Option 3: Describe a Trend

This option requires observation of our culture and its trends.? Two past trend choices have been tattooing and dieting, for example.? Use the following plan for your trend analysis.

Paragraph 1:? Tell how you became interested in the trend.? Give personal stories, examples from t.v., newspapers, magazines and other background information to define the trend.?

Paragraph 2:? Research the trend and explain how you did your research.? You can conduct interviews, use questionnaires or polls, observe and take notes, and do research on the internet, or use other methods to gather information.?? Remember to use some information-gathering other than internet.? One student in writing about tattooing interviewed people who were getting tattoos and a tattoo parlor owner.? Be creative here!? Provide photos, questionnaires used, quotes from interviewees, and other details.

Paragraph 3:? Draw some conclusions from your research and report the results of your personal research.

Paragraph 4:?? What can you conclude about our culture as a result of your analysis?? What was your reaction to your investigation? Was it worthwhile??? Should the trend alarm or please us??
