The question is: What is the role of judges and does their role allow them to be creative within the English Legal System?

Could i have quotes from judges separately stating what they believe the role of the judge is and whether it involves creativity. For example, what Lord Denning says, Lord Reid, Lord Devlin, Lord Radcliffe etc. Also, can the writer discuss whether judges being creative has a positive or negative effect on the law.
