Article Review general Instructions (per the Syllabus)
You will select an article from the Journal of Accountancy to evaluate that is focused on concepts related to accounting information systems (per the textbook). The article you select must have been published within the last 18 months. Your review will consist of a summary of the article; a statement on whether you agree or disagree with the author’s viewpoint; and an explanation of how the article will impact accounting information systems.
Detailed Article Review Guidelines
1. You will select one (1) article from the Journal of Accountancy to evaluate. – Provide reference following the ABA style in the reference section of your report
2. The article you select should be focused on concepts related to accounting information systems. – You should be able to demonstrate that the article you pick is focused on concepts related to accounting information systems.
3. The article you select must have been published within the last 18 months – Do not pick any article older than that.
4. Your review will consist of:
a. A summary of the article
b. A statement on whether you agree or disagree with the author’s viewpoint
c. An explanation of how the article will impact accounting information systems
Additional Article Review Guidelines
1. Minimum. Ensure your overall paper has at least 2 full pages of content.
2. Maximum. Ensure your paper does not go over 4 pages of content in total.
3. Content. Content refers to the text you type as part of your article review to comply with requirements on point #4 of the ‘Detailed Article Review Guidelines’ provided above.
4. Margins. Margins should be 1 inch (top, bottom, left, and right)
5. Paragraph spacing. Should be double space across the whole document. Do not add any other spaces or empty lines; use all space to type your knowledge.
6. Cover Page. Should be prepared, and does not make part of the 2 min content pages.
7. References Page. Should be prepared, and does not make part of the 2 min content pages.
8. Conclude. Ensure you clearly conclude on whether you agree or disagree with the author’s point of view.
9. Explain. Ensure you clearly provide an explanation of how the article will impact accounting information systems. You would like to support your explanation with AIS concepts covered in the class and textbook.
10. One Reference and one Citation. You must include at least one external reference and one citation for each case problem. The reference and citation must be related to the material being presented, and cannot be the textbook or the article itself.
11. Amount of Text from other sources. Ensure your paper does not end up being a significant amount of pasting text literally from the textbook or from the article you picked.
12. APA Style. Ensure you follow the APA style, especially for any citations and references required. Remember that citations and references are different things.
13. Key for Success. In order to get full grade you need to:
a. Comply with the stated requirements
b. Provide the right responses to the requirements, supporting them with concepts from the textbook and class.
