The states of the Middle East and North Africa have a variety of political systems, each one reflecting its state’s historical background, colonial experience (or lack of it), social and economic conditions, religions, and geographical setting, climate and population pressures. But the very real differences that exist among the states of MENA should not obscure their similarities.

Pick two of the following countries and analyze their similarities and differences. Make a prediction which one is heading towards more of political, economic and social stability in the next decade. Explain why.
